She's very inconsiderate of YOUR time as a student. For ex in my exp she asked my group to meet up around 9pm at night for a meeting on a project. It hit 12am she told us "you guys have all night" bc it was her time to sleep. when we have sent her an email at 3pm lol She expects you to focus on her class vs your other classes. Avoid or Goodluck.

The worst professor i've ever had at CSULA! Never learned anything at all. Don't expect much! She gives alot of assignments but if you turn them in you'll get a good grade!!

This course is no pushover. Based on a team project, an ICCP exam, & dozen quizzes from upper division & electives. You will be held responsible to learn any concepts you missed for these quizzes. ICCP exam has little value but shows you know IS. However, the project is your top priority as the project is useful for your future job interviews.

The course is essentially an in-depth recap of everything that has been covered in the major. Yes, everything. Team project will involve selected profession. Quizzes on major IS subjects. Professor Howell is very knowledgeable and passionate. I would advise taking this along with a set of easier classes; the course is intense and time-consuming.

I wouldn't take this professor again. The only thing she got going is that she's "niceish". My major problem for this professor is that she provided a 30 minute video to how to take the final exam. She doesn't teach a whole lot that is relevant to the course btw.

She is too strict, unable to connect with students and very particular in almost everything. If things don't go by her way, she grills it down in the grade. At the end of semester, instead of a final test: she took some certification exam of 4 hours long which I found so tough to crack. Cal State LA should provide an alternative for capstone class!

Hands down worst Professor! Condescending, mico-manager , unable to connect with students or respect their opinions, all she cares about is proving herself to her peers! Cal state LA should provide an alternate option for capstone classes!

Very disorganized. Totally cut off with the curriculum of the program and fellow professors. Condescending. Micromanages. Does not really know how to help or reach students. Expects too much from students. I would avoid. Email the chair for more capstone options.

For CIS 4900 she throws a lot at you. The whole semester is you working on your group project with your teammates. Quizes can be quite difficult and she made our final exam a certification exam. Mixed feelings about her teaching methods but was overall ok since she does not want to fail you and prepare you for the real world.

She seems nice however she thinks her class is the only class! Teaches something, expects something else in form of project papers! Yes paperS! Spent the entire semester to write a manuscript only to be told to do the same thing for Final exam except this time the same requirements & expectations in 3 days!! Take another class! Professor Howell is one of the most caring professor I have taken on campus. She goes out of her way to make sure her students are actually learning and feel prepared for their future career once they graduate. Since I've taken her classes I can say I feel more prepared and would take her again if possible. Grateful!
